Ingredients

  • cup whole milk
  • cup strawberries hulled
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • ice

Instructions

  • Add the strawberries, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the strawberry puree into a glass. Spoon some of the puree up the sides of the glass to make a more dramatic effect when adding the milk and matcha layers.
  • Add the matcha powder to a separate glass or bowl with ⅓ cup of hot water and whisk until there are no clumps.
  • Add the ice to the glass and then pour the milk over the top of the glass. Pour the milk over the back of a spoon to help create a layered effect.
  • Gently pour the matcha mixture over the milk to create the third layer.
  • Garnish with a whole strawberry on the rim of the glass or chopped strawberries on top of the drink.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
