Maple Pecan Cookies

These maple pecan cookies are a delicious and easy treat to make! The maple flavor is subtle and pairs perfectly with the pecans. Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the butter until light and fluffy, and then cream the sugar and butter together.
  • Add the egg, maple syrup, and maple extract and mix in.
  • Add in the salt, baking soda, and flour and mix until well combined.
  • Add the chopped pecans and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Using a cookie scoop, drop dough by the tablespoon onto the prepared cookie sheet. Allow at least 1 inch of space between each ball to allow space for the cookies to spread while baking.
  • Bake for 12-13 minutes or until the cookies are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
