In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and Matcha powder.

Freeze the butter for  15–30 minutes, then grate the butter with a box grater.

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Add this to the flour mixture and stir until everything is evenly moistened.

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently until it comes together. Roll or pat the dough into a  1-inch-thick disc.

Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the scones are cooked through.
