Ingredients
 
 

  • 2 slices crusty bread
  • 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard whole grain, Dijon, or English
  • 2 tablespoon pickle or relish
  • 2 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ pound ham thick or sandwich cut
  • 1 handful arugula
  • ½ apple thinly sliced

Instructions
 

  • Slice the crusty bread into thick, hearty slices. You can lightly toast them if desired to add a delightful crunch.
  • Spread a layer of mayonnaise on one slice of bread, followed by a layer of mustard.
  • Add a layer of cheese on top of the mayonnaise and mustard, followed by a layer of ham.
  • Place a second layer of cheese on top of the ham then add a handful of arugula and the apple slices.
  • Spread a generous amount of relish on the second slice of bread.
  • Carefully place the relish-covered slice of bread on top of the fillings to form a sandwich.
