    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Air fryer pop tarts are a perfect snack if you're looking for something quick, simple and delicious. We think you'll love our recipe for air fryer pop tarts and here are some reasons why:

    • They're quick and easy to make, with only 5 ingredients.
    • They're customizable with your favorite jelly or preserves.
    • They're perfect for a quick snack or dessert and so delicious, you won't want to stop at just one!

What You’ll Need To Make Air Fryer Pop Tarts

Ingredients for air fryer pop tarts.
    • Pre-made pie crust: You can find this in the refrigerated section of your grocery store, near the pre-made doughs. We like to use Pillsbury pie crust, but any brands will work.
    • Jelly or preserves: We used strawberry jelly for our air fryer pop tarts, but you can use any flavor you like.Vanilla icing: This is optional, but we think it takes these tarts to the next level and it gives the sprinkles something to stick to.
    • Rainbow sprinkles: Again, optional but so much fun! Rainbow sprinkles are a great choice for creating a fun, simple pop tart, but you can use any kind of sprinkles that you'd like.
    • Butter: You'll need a little bit of butter to brush on the pop tarts before cooking, this helps them to get nice and crispy in the air fryer.
    • Mickey cookie cutter (or another cookie cutter of your choice): This is for cutting out the shapes of the pop tarts - we use a cutter from the Wilton Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter Set. If you don't have a Mickey cookie cutter, you can use any other cookie cutter that you like or even just a knife to cut out rectangles.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

Before you get started, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Roll out the pre-made pie crust and use your cookie cutter to cut out as many pieces as you can from the crust. Make sure that you have an even number of pieces when you're done as you'll need two pieces of pie crust per pop tart.

Spoon 1 teaspoon of jelly on half of the cut-outs and then place a second cut-out on top of the jelly for each pop tart. Press the edges together with a fork to seal.

Gently brush the top of each pop tart with melted butter and place them in the air fryer basket.

Cook in the air fryer for 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. These will brown really quickly, so make sure that you keep an eye on them!

Once they're nice and brown, remove the pop tarts from the air fryer, smother with the vanilla icing, and add the sprinkles on top.

    Serve and enjoy!

    Serving Suggestions And Substitutions

These air fryer pop tarts are delicious on their own, but if you want to dress them up a bit, here are some serving suggestions and substitutions:

Substitute the pie crust for pre-made croissant dough, puff pastry, or even crescent rolls.

Try different flavors of jelly or preserves, like raspberry, blueberry, or even chocolate.

Add some fun toppings like chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut flakes.

Drizzle with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or even a simple powdered sugar glaze.

For a fun holiday twist, try using red and green jelly and turn these pop tarts into Christmas trees!

    How To Store Leftovers

If you have any air fryer pop tarts left over, we recommend storing them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. These are best served fresh, but they will still be delicious when reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes before serving.

These air fryer pop tarts also freeze well, so if you want to make a batch ahead of time, just place them in a freezer-safe bag or container and store them in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, just pop them in the air fryer for a few minutes until they're warm and crispy.
